27 February 2011: Franzi a.L. (handler: Sally Beermann) passed the working test (type E) for search and rescue teams.

The handler reports: "The rules of the new type E test for SAR dogs are currently on probation. Test E is geared towards search practice and may ask the dogs to do longish searches without a result. The dog and handler team are allotted two different search areas, not in direct neighbourhood.
The teams are given 30 minutes to complete the test; between one and three helpers must be found in the areas; the number of persons is unknown to the handler. Before starting search in area 2, area 1 must be declared "clear" by the handler. Franzi and I had to search for only one person in area 2. No problem for Franzi, although she had to search quite a while without success. For me it was quite worrying when she found noboy in area 1.
Passing test E qualifies us again to do SAR work for missing persons."
